Design, build, test, and deploy Azure Data Factory pipelines; analyze and translate SAP BODS/SSIS ETL into ADF; develop and optimize SQL and stored procedures; perform testing, monitoring, and performance tuning; lead migrations, collaborate across teams, and mentor junior developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing SAP BODS jobs and job definitions and translate them into ADF pipeline designs
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Azure Data Factory pipelines following best practices
- Lead migration activities from BODS to ADF, ensuring functional parity and performance optimization
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to support ADF pipelines
- Work closely with architects, data analysts, and downstream consumers to understand data transformation logic
- Apply a strong analytical mindset to troubleshoot complex data integration issues
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT activities
- Ensure proper error handling, logging, monitoring, and performance tuning in ADF
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers (if applicable)
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge transfer, and handover activities
- Collaborate with onshore/offshore teams and stakeholders across time zones

- Hands-on experience building complex ADF pipelines
- Strong understanding of activities, datasets, linked services, triggers, and integration runtimes

- Proven ability to analyze legacy ETL logic and translate it into modern cloud-based solutions

- Strong SSIS development and migration experience
- Ability to map SSIS/BODS logic to ADF patterns

- Advanced SQL skills for data transformation, validation, and performance tuning
- Stored Procedures
- Strong experience in designing, developing, and optimizing stored procedures
- Python
- Experience using Python for data processing, automation, or orchestration
- SAP BODS (Business Objects Data Services)
- Prior hands-on experience developing or maintaining BODS jobs
- Understanding of BODS workflows, dataflows, and transformations
- 8–12 years of overall experience in Data Integration / ETL / Data Engineering
- Strong experience working on large-scale migration or decommissioning programs
- Experience in enterprise data platforms and complex data landscapes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in Agile / Iterative delivery models preferred
