At Electrolux, as a leading global appliance company, we strive every day to shape living for the better for our consumers, our people and our planet. We share ideas and collaborate so that together, we can develop solutions that deliver enjoyable and sustainable living.
Come join us as you are. We believe diverse perspectives make us stronger and more innovative. In our global community of people from 100+ countries, we listen to each other, actively contribute, and grow together.
Join us in our exciting quest to build the future home.
All about the role:
As a Lead Performance Engineer, you will report directly to the Platform Engineering and SRE Engineering Manager.
You will be part of our Cloud Native organization, working closely with our Product teams in eCommerce, Digital Marketing and other Consumer solutions and be involved in the full Software Lifecycle. We already have a solid, modern Engineering foundation and want to continuously improve in a dynamic, iterative manner.
This is both a creative and a detail-oriented role in a very multicultural environment. We want you to be bursting with opinions and passionate about sharing them, as well as executing them in a collaborative way.
About the CDI Experience Organization:
The Consumer Direct Interaction Experience Organization is a Digital Product Organization responsible for delivering tech solutions to our end-users and consumers across both pre-purchase and post-purchase journeys. We are organized in 15+ digital product areas, providing solutions ranging from Contact Center, E-commerce, Marketing, and Identity to AI. You will play a key role in ensuring the right sizing, right skillset, and core competency across these product areas.
At CDI XO, Electrolux Group's Consumer Direct Interaction Organization, we are transforming everyday life through digital innovation.
Our engineers help design and build solutions, big and small, to enable a range of highly connected Consumer Market solutions in a modern distributed landscape. Our engineers are working at the cutting edge of Cloud Native technology and patterns. We strive to develop, build, deploy and run intelligently.
What you’ll do:
Deeply understand Performance Engineering principles and practices with real-world implementation experience — from Core Web Vitals and frontend rendering to backend latency, throughput and capacity planning.
Lead teams through complex performance investigations, mentor engineers, and stay ahead of the latest industry trends and technologies. Enjoy working in a team, be open minded, confident but humble.
Have proven experience navigating through a full stack from the perspective of Performance Engineering including:
- Web performance measurement and optimisation — Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS), Real User Monitoring (RUM), synthetic testing and browser performance analysis.
- Load, stress and soak testing tools and methodologies such as BlazeMeter, JMeter, k6 or Gatling — with the ability to design test strategies, interpret results and drive action from them.
- Observability platforms and data: using tools such as Datadog (RUM, APM, dashboards), Azure Monitor and Application Insights to proactively identify, quantify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Define and own performance budgets — establishing "what fast means" for frontend and backend services, providing the data that feeds into SRE SLO definitions.
Design and deliver performance dashboards and reporting that engineering teams, product owners and leadership actually use — actionable, self-service and tied to business outcomes.
Drive the observability workshop and monitoring rollout programmes — enabling product teams across the organisation to understand and own their own performance posture.
Enjoy dividing their time between engineering work (hands-on investigation and tooling), strategic work (baselines, budgets, capacity planning) and collaborative work (enablement, workshops, cross-team influence).
Want their ideas to come to life, which includes being comfortable making hard decisions, articulating them and having the drive to see them through to completion in a team setting.
Work closely with developers and cross-functional teams to identify performance risks early and recommend appropriate design solutions.
Build and maintain automated performance testing capabilities, including CI/CD performance gates that catch regressions before they reach production.
Produce capacity planning data and recommendations — analysing load test results and production traffic trends to inform right-sizing decisions made by Cloud Engineering.
Ensure that performance engineering work is always connected to business impact — quantifying issues in terms of revenue, conversion, cost and user experience, not just milliseconds.
Mandate everything-as-code (no point and click) — test scripts, dashboards, alerting and infrastructure all version-controlled and reproducible.
But…the most important thing is that you have the potential to become a thought leader and are genuinely passionate about engineering.
Who are you:
Experienced building performance culture in organisations — workshops, shared tooling, performance budgets, CI/CD gates.
Computer Science/Software Engineering related degree.
10+ years of work experience working with Production, scalable distributed system landscapes, with a significant portion focused on performance engineering, performance testing or observability.
Extensive experience with Cloud Computing (Azure preferrable).
Fluent English, written and spoken.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
Experience with SAP systems.
Familiarity with CDN performance, edge caching strategies and third-party tag impact analysis.
Strong understanding of Jmeter/Blazemeter.
Where you'll be:
This is a full-time position, based in Bangalore, India
Benefits Highlights:
Flexible work hours and a hybrid work environment
Discounts on our award-winning Electrolux products and services
Family-friendly benefits
Extensive learning opportunities and a flexible career path
