Role Overview
The Senior App Integration Engineer is responsible for enabling seamless, secure, and intuitive user experiences by integrating AI and data capabilities into enterprise-facing channels such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and web applications. This role serves as the critical bridge between AI orchestration backends and end-user interactions, ensuring adoption, usability, and reliability at scale.
With 7+ years of experience, the role combines strong engineering execution with a deep understanding of enterprise UX, identity, and integration patterns, working closely with AI Engineers and Solution Architects to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
User-Facing Integrations
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise-facing integrations, including:
- Microsoft Teams (bots, chat experiences, adaptive cards)
- SharePoint solutions or web applications (as required)
- Ensure integrations provide consistent, intuitive, and responsive UX for business users interacting with AI-driven insights.
AI & Backend Integration
- Integrate front-end channels with AI orchestration APIs, enabling:
- Context-aware user requests
- Secure request routing and response handling
- Handle error scenarios, latency considerations, and graceful degradation of AI responses.
Identity, Security & Context Management
- Implement authentication, authorization, and user-context propagation using Microsoft Entra ID.
- Ensure secure access patterns aligned with enterprise security and compliance standards.
- Maintain user-level context (roles, permissions, session data) across integrations.
UX Consistency & Adoption
- Ensure a consistent user experience across multiple channels and surfaces.
- Focus on usability, clarity, and adoption, particularly for business users consuming AI-powered insights.
- Incorporate feedback to improve interaction patterns and reduce friction.
Collaboration & Solution Alignment
- Collaborate closely with:
- AI Engineers to align frontend behavior with AI capabilities and constraints
- Solution Architects to implement agreed integration patterns and architectural standards
- Contribute to integration standards, best practices, and reusable components.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in application development, integration engineering, or enterprise UI/backend integration roles
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade applications or integrations
Technical Skills
- Strong experience building integrations for:
- Microsoft Teams
- Web applications or enterprise portals
- Solid understanding of API-based integration patterns (REST, async workflows, secure token exchange)
Identity & Security
- Hands-on experience with identity, access management, and secure app design
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth flows, and role-based access models
UX & Enterprise Readiness
- Strong focus on usability, consistency, and adoption in enterprise environments
- Ability to design interactions that abstract backend complexity while maintaining trust and clarity for users
